JBS Infrastructure Hit By Cyber Attack
Brazil-based JBS recently discovered it had fallen victim to a cybersecurity attack. Its computer systems in North America and Australia were hit by an organized cybersecurity attack. Recovery, according to JBS, would take an unknown amount of time and warned of delays of its products to customers and suppliers.
USA shutdowns are affecting several of its locations, including Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, and Utah. JBS' USA operations are responsible for approximately 25% of all USA beef supplies. The pork plants still remain in operation.
“The White House is engaging directly with the Russian government on this matter and delivering the message that responsible states do not harbor ransomware criminals,” mentioned Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House principal deputy press secretary. JBS also released a statement that its made significant progress recovering from the attack.
